Eggleston & Briscoe was formed on September 1, 1999 by William J. Eggleston and W. Montgomery Briscoe, partners in a predecessor firm where they practiced law together for more than 15 years. F. Maxwell Evans, former Vice President and General Counsel of Sterling Chemicals, Inc., became Of Counsel to the firm on October 1, 1999. On August 1, 2000, Tracy Jackson Cowart became a partner in the new firm, and on April 1, 2001, Raymond L. Gregory II joined the firm as a partner. Eggleston & Briscoe is presently comprised of nine attorneys with plans for additional growth. The firm occupies Suite 4800 of Three Allen Center at 333 Clay Street in downtown Houston.

Eggleston & Briscoe serves a predominantly corporate and institutional client base representing a variety of publicly and privately owned business interests. Specializing in Commercial Litigation, Insurance Law, and School and Public Law, the firm has a broad base of trial and appellate experience in Contract and Business litigation, Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith litigation, Construction and Construction Defect litigation, Professional Liability, Products Liability, Cargo and Warehouseman's Liability, Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, Premises Liability, Oil and Gas, Environmental Torts, Employment Law, Suretyship claims, Reinsurance, Worker’s Compensation and Subrogation claims. The firm also represents several public and private companies in various corporate and real estate matters.
