Monty Briscoe is a trial lawyer concentrating in insurance coverage and litigation, business litigation.

Monty founded Eggleston & Briscoe with his long-time friend and trial partner, Bill Eggleston, with the idea in mind that individuals and businesses alike would have a place to turn for successful, hard-working trial lawyers who provide outstanding service on an efficient scale. Now, having consistently achieved the goals of his clients over a broad range of litigation scenarios, Monty is considered a “go to” lawyer for complex business litigation. His outstanding trial record includes recent victories in litigation involving insurance coverage and bad faith, construction defect, premises liability, truck and auto accidents, and real estate. Time and again, he has proven his ability to win in the courtroom in a very broad range of matters. Insurance clients repeatedly turn to Monty for coverage issues, as well as subrogation, property, and casualty litigation. Business clients turn to Monty for representation on both the plaintiffs’ and defense sides, and his advocacy successes also extend into arbitration and appellate practice.

Monty is a native Houstonian. He attended Washington & Lee University where he was actively involved in student government, elected to the University Council, the Student Affairs Committee, and the Inter-Fraternity Council. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington & Lee in 1981 where his contributions to student government earned him recognition in Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities in 1982. Monty studied law at Cambridge University and South Texas College of Law, where he achieved a top honor in South Texas College of Law’s nationally recognized advocacy program, winning first place in the Spurgeon E. Bell Moot Court Competition in Appellate Advocacy in 1982. Monty received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from South Texas College of Law in 1984.
