Keith Laughery is an associate with Eggleston & Briscoe, working in all areas of civil litigation with a primary focus on first and third party insurance defense, commercial litigation, and personal injury.
Mr. Laughery grew up in Clear Lake City, Texas. He graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. While attending the University of Houston, Mr. Laughery was employed as a researcher at William Marsh Rice University where he worked on a federally-funded research project to evaluate the effectiveness of alcoholic beverage warning labels, and co-authored a publication reporting the results. After graduating from the University of Houston, Mr. Laughery worked as a consultant evaluating product safety systems, workplace safety, and safety information communication systems associated with consumer and industrial products.
Mr. Laughery received his Doctor of Jurisprudence, magna cum laude, from South Texas College of Law in 2005. While attending South Texas College of Law, he was a member of the South Texas Law Review and authored an article pertaining to the communication of safety information in the workplace. Mr. Laughery received the Phi Delta Phi Highest Grade Awards for Legal Research and Writing I and II, and the John G. Bowes Memorial Award for Outstanding Legal Writing.
Prior to joining Eggleston & Briscoe, Mr. Laughery served a one-year term as a briefing attorney for the Fourteenth District Court of Appeals of the State of Texas. During his term at the Court of Appeals, Mr. Laughery researched and analyzed appellate issues in a wide variety of civil and criminal cases, and assisted in the preparation of Court opinions. This experience provided valuable and unique insight into the trial and appellate processes.
